When mounting your TV, you should think about the placement briefly before choosing a spot. The general spot is not always the best placement option. Comfort is a big factor that should be taken into consideration when making your decision. Here are two things to consider when deciding where to mount your TV:
Height – Although there is no set height for TV mounting, you generally want to have the center of the TV at eye level or slightly lower for a comfortable viewing position. Placing your TV too high is similar to sitting in the front row at a movie theater and will not be comfortable on your neck.
Distance – Many people consider height but might forget to think about the distance of the TV. The majority of people set up their TV to be nine feet away from the sitting area. At nine feet, the viewer is no longer able to distinguish the difference between 1080p and 720p on most TV sizes. Mounting your TV less than 9 feet away from the sitting area allows the viewer can see more resolution.
